Amanda became a member of BSARD in 2008, with about 10 years experience in Search and Rescue with the Civil Air Patrol.
She started out as a co-handler with K9 Murphy before acquiring Brady in 2009, at which time she became his full-time handler.
Amanda’s personal certifications include NIMS ICS courses (100, 200, 700, and 800), and Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED. Other training she has completed throughout her career include GPS Navigation, Crime Scene Preservation, HazMat Awareness, Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Awareness, Personal Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protection against Blood-borne Pathogens.
Amanda is a senior project director.
K9 Brady, Active from 2009 to 2011
Brady was a male Golden Retriever, born in January 2009 and beginning training a couple of months later..
He trained for Human Remains Detection on Land and Human Remains Detection in Water and was active until March 2011, when Amanda’s family moved out of state for business.
