Braeden and Dax trained with us for several months before being voted onto the team as a K9 Handler in July 2018.
He and Dax certified for Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection in Water.
Due to other time commitments he had, Braeden retired from active duty with the team in November 2022 after participating in 31 search operations.
Braeden is now a K9 Officer with a major metropolitan police department.
K9 Dax, Active from 2018 to 2022
Dax was a male Belgian Malinois, born in early 2017. He was a “rescued rescuer” that Braeden adopted from the same shelter in Alabama where Darcy adopted Dexter.
He began his SAR training in July 2018, during which he was certified for Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection in Water.
In the 4 years DAX was with BSARD, he had participated in 26 search operations.
