Dave was a Senior K9 Handler and a founding member of BSARD, with about 5 years experience in K9 SAR prior to our establishment in 2004. He had a long backstory in Law Enforcement, Fire Services, and Security Services.
Dave’s son Bryan was also an active member of the team.
Dave was a member of BSARD’s Board of Directors from 2007 through 2009.
He was a big fan of Bloodhounds, and worked several of them throughout his career. He specialized in Mantrailing, and also provided Operations Support and Field Support for other missions when he wasn’t working a trail. He briefly trained for Human Remains Detection on Land.
Dave retired from BSARD in January 2010, and had participated in 16 search operations over his 6-year tenure. He is now a retired Security Director from a major Cincinnati-area attraction.
K9 Isabel, Active 2008 to 2009
Isabel was a female Bloodhound trained for Mantrailing.
She was active from April 2008 until March 2009 and participated in 4 search operations during her year with the team.
K9 Mister Handy, Active 2006 to 2007
Mister Handy was a male German Shepherd Dog who started training for Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection on Land in May 2006.
He retired from SAR work in May of 2007 after participating in 2 search operations during his year with the team.
K9 Bart, Active from 2004 to 2009
Bart was a male Bloodhound trained for Mantrailing.
He was a founding K9 member of BSARD, coming on with Dave in May 2004 and was active until March 2009. During his nearly 5 year tenure with BSARD he participated in 11 search operations.
K9 Precious, Active 2004 to 2006
Precious was a female Bloodhound trained for Mantrailing.
She was a founding K9 member of BSARD, coming on with Dave in May 2004 and was active until April 2006. During her nearly 2 year tenure with BSARD she participated in 1 search operation.
