JB was a Senior K9 Handler and founding member with about 3 years K9 SAR experience when BSARD was established. He was also one of the three original members of the BSARD Board of Directors, serving from 2004 through 2006.
JB specialized in Mantrailing, Human Remains Detection on Land, and Human Remains Detection in Water. Professionally he was a History teacher as well as a Firefighter and Assistant Chief with a Volunteer Fire Department near Portsmouth OH.
JB retired from BSARD in February 2011. During his 7 years with BSARD he participated in 12 search operations with the team.

Simon Kenton was a male Labrador Retriever and a founding K9 member of BSARD, coming in with JB in May 2004. He was trained for Mantrailing, Human Remains Detection on Land, and Human Remains Detection in Water and was active until February 2011. During his nearly 7 year tenure with BSARD he participated in 12 search operations.
K9 Dixie, Active from 2004 to 2006
Dixie was a female Bloodhound and a founding K9 member of BSARD, coming in with JB in May 2004. She was trained for Mantrailing and, somewhat unusual for a bloodhound, she also worked Human Remains Detection on Land. During her almost 2 years with BSARD she participated in 3 search operations before passing away in 2006.
K9 Daniel Boone, Active from 2004 to 2006
Daniel Boone was a male Labrador Retriever who joined BSARD in October 2004 and was active until May 2006. He trained for for Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection on Land during his 1-1/2 years with the team.
