Julie and her husband Joe joined BSARD as K9 handlers in February 2008. Both were avid fans of Bloodhounds and enjoyed Mantrailing with Ruby and Hank, respectively.
She served two consecutive terms on BSARD’s Board of Directors from 2010 through 2012, and 2013 through 2015.
She retired from active K9 handling in August 2017 when Joe retired, but remained a full member of the team until December 2019. When she left she had participated in 63 search operations.
K9 Abby, Active from 2011 to 2017
Abby was a female Bloodhound who started training for Mantrailing in March 2011.
She worked until Julie retired from K9 handling in August 2017. She participated in 13 search operations in her 6 years on the team.
K9 Ruby, Active from 2008 to 2012
Ruby was a female Bloodhound who came to BSARD with Julie in February 2008.
She was certified for Mantrailing and worked until retiring March 2012. During her 4 year tenure she participated in 13 search operations.
