Sharon was a K9 Handler who joined BSARD in September 2010.
She was a fan of German Shepherd Dogs, and trained 3 for Mantrailing, Wilderness Area Search, Human Remains Detection on Land, and Human Remains Detection in Water during her time with BSARD.
She and her sister Keitha left BSARD in August 2014 to form their own K9 SAR team a little nearer to where they lived. During Sharon’s time with BSARD she participated in 9 search operations.
K9 Spirit, Active 2014
Spirit was a female German Shepherd Dog who Sharon began training as a puppy for Mantrailing in May 2014.
She left with Sharon to form part of their new team in August 2014.
K9 Treasure, Active from 2009 to 2014
Treasure was a female German Shepherd Dog who came to BSARD with Sharon in September 2010.
She was certified for Mantrailing, Wilderness Area Search, Human Remains Detection on Land, and Human Remains Detection in Water.
She left with Sharon to form part of their new team in August 2014. During her 3-1/2 year career with BSARD she participated in 4 search operations.
K9 Willow, Active from 2009 to 2013
Willow was a female German Shepherd Dog who came to BSARD with Sharon in September 2010.
During her career she was certified for Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection in Water.
Willow retired from active duty in October 2013. During her tenure with BSARD she participated in 4 search operations over 3 years.
