Kris is one of the most recent additions to Search and Rescue, having joined BSARD as a K9 handler in July 2024 with her K9 partner Echo.
Kris and Echo are certified for Human Remains Detection on Land.
Her personal certifications include NASAR SARTECH III, NIMS ICS courses (100, 200, and 700), and Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED. Other training she has completed include Land and GPS Navigation, Crime Scene Preservation, HazMat Awareness, Personal Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protection against Blood-borne Pathogens. She also has a variety of safety-related training which she taught when she was a hospital executive.
She is a retired scientist and research executive.

Echo is a female German Shepherd Dog, born March 2022.
She is currently certified for Human Remains Detection on Land.
She also has her AKC Canine Good Citizen designation.
Echo loves to chase bubbles and wasps with equal voracity.
