Chad has been a SAR professional since 2005 from his career as a Watercraft Officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Coast Guard Reserve. He became a member of BSARD in 2020 shortly after leaving ODNR. (He is still active in the USCG Reserve as a Machinery Technician Chief Petty Officer.)
In addition to being our Sonar Specialist, he also specializes in Water Search Planning and Operations and performs Field Support for Land-based deployments.
He has multiple certifications from the USCG and through ODNR, including Sonar Technician, Tactical Operators course, Close Quarters Course Maneuvering, and Swift Water Technician. He is proficient with GPS Navigation and in First Aid.
Chad is a metalworker by vocation.
