
Julie is one of the most recent additions to Search and Rescue, having joined BSARD in July 2024 with her K9 partner Cory. In addition to her K9 Handling, she also performs Field Support and is the Team Veterinarian. She is the instructor for the team for Canine First Aid.
Julie is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and has her private practice with a specialty in Veterinary Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Physical Rehabilitation, and Underwater Treadmill Therapy.
Julie and Cory are in training to certify for Human Remains Detection on Land.
Obviously her Veterinary training and Certifications are many and varied. Her personal SAR-related certifications include NIMS ICS courses (100, 200, 700, and 800), and Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED.
Other training she has completed include GPS Navigation, Crime Scene Preservation, Personal Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protection against Blood-borne Pathogens.

Cory is a male Belgian Sheepdog (also called a Groenendael), born November 2023.
He is in training to certify for Human Remains Detection on Land.
Cory likes playing Frisbee and snuggling.
